Coaching Staff

Jason BrittonJason Britton - Head Coach

Coaching:

Jason has been coaching for 10 years in swimming and triathlon. He has coached levels from beginner to national record holder, and ages from 4 to 74. Jason was age group national team co-coach at World Championships this year. He has been a trainer/weight coach to the National Soccer Team and has previously owned and operated his own personal coaching and fitness consulting business. While working at the University of Alberta, Jason developed a standardized curriculum for graduate and undergraduate coaching degree programs currently being implemented at universities across Canada. Jason has also worked for Edmonton Sports Institute, a high performance sport gymnasium as the gym manager, and is currently working for the City of Edmonton as a lifeguard. Jason is also on the board of directors for the Alberta Triathlon Association.

Athletics:

Jason is an accomplished athlete. He was World Champion for his age group in aquathlon in 2007 and was the elite triathlete of the year for Alberta in 2003. He has been an age-group and U23 member of the National Triathlon Team for eight plus years and has competed in twenty plus World Championship competitions across triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon and long distance triathlon.

Jason is now starting to dabble in track cycling. Before taking up triathlon, Jason was an accomplished athlete across a variety of sports. Jason competed at a varsity level in track and in swimming, and participated in hockey, baseball, badminton, soccer, volleyball and basketball through his younger years.
